Aunt Diane was a master of vision. I say that because lots of times, she saw more of us than we saw of ourselves. She helped each of us see our own personal worlds with more clarity because she could see things that we had not seen or considered regarding life's ups and downs. In her eyes every one was a winner, and it was perfectly fine to make mistakes. In her wisdom she knew that we had to fail our way to success in anything we did, you can't rise without falling and in life's peaks and valley's we learned a lot more from the peaks than we did from the valley's and without the valley's there would be no peaks. She laughed with us, cried with us and enjoyed us as we enjoyed her. She was a GREAT Mom, a GREAT Aunt! She was a guardian and a protector, she was a woman of POWERFUL FAITH, and God's light shined through her always. She could light up a person and she could light up a room. She was our coach, our mentor and our friend. She made sacrifices so others would not do without. If we needed to feel the razors edge of her tough love it always came with a side order of warmth and understanding. She could create something out of nothing if it was needed. She could create like God, lead like a King and serve like mother Theresa. To serve is to be a leader and Aunt Diane was a true leader, she was all the fruits of the spirit and more, she was my Aunt. She was a mountain of hope an endless reserve of inspiration. She said to me once, don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't do something because you are a child of God and God did not make any mistakes. If you purpose something in your heart and back it with faith and desire, you can do anything. That is how she felt about all of us. She always gave us honesty, she always gave us integrity and she always gave us love. You are with me and with us always Aunt Diane and we Love You.
I know I am still with you
in your prayers, your thoughts, your heart
And though you cannot see me,
I will always be a part
of life's sweet celebrations
in those times when you reflect
on how, though things are different,
through our love, we still connect.
We'll see each other someday
when our spirits all are free,
until then, I am with you
because you remember me.
